Terms of use
The short version: the data is free to read, it comes from somewhere else, it is sometimes wrong, and it is not a betting tool. Last updated 7 September 2026.
What this is
Third and Data is a college football reference site operated from Texas. Using it means accepting what is on this page. If you do not, the remedy is not to use it.
Most of the site is open to anyone. Some features need an account, and an account is yours to look after — you are responsible for what happens under it, and for telling us if you think someone else is using it.
The data is not ours, and it is not guaranteed
Games, rosters, play-by-play, betting lines and recruiting come from CollegeFootballData. We store it, compute figures from it, and publish the result. We do not warrant that any of it is accurate, complete or current, and we are not the authority on any game.
The About page says specifically which parts we consider weaker and why. It is worth reading before relying on a number, and it is a more useful document than this one.
The site may be unavailable, wrong, or changed without notice. Live scores in particular are a best effort against a feed we do not control.
Not for wagering
The one clause on this page that is about something the site actually shows
This site displays betting lines and a pregame win probability because they are part of the record of a game. They are published as information, not as advice, and nothing here is a prediction you should stake money on.
We take no responsibility for any wager placed on anything shown here, whether the figure was right or wrong. Gambling law differs by state and is your business, not ours.
What you may and may not do
Read it, quote it, link to it, use a figure in an argument, screenshot it for a group chat. That is what it is for, and no permission is needed.
Please do not:
- scrape or bulk-extract the site in a way that degrades it for other readers, or reproduce it wholesale as a competing service
- attempt to break, overload, or gain unauthorised access to any part of it
- use it for anything unlawful, or to harass anyone
- strip the attribution when republishing figures derived from CollegeFootballData
If you want the underlying data in bulk, go to CollegeFootballData directly — they are the source and they have an API. That is a better answer than scraping this site, for both of us.
What you send us
Report a wrong number and you are giving us permission to act on it — to investigate, to fix it, and to pass the substance upstream to CollegeFootballData where the mistake originated there. That happens regularly and it is how the source gets better.
Please do not put confidential information, or personal details about other people, into the feedback form. It is a bug report, not a mailbox.
Names, marks and the site itself
School names, nicknames and logos belong to the schools and their licensors. They appear here to identify teams and imply no affiliation with, or endorsement by, any school, conference, the NCAA, or any broadcaster.
The design of this site, its writing, and the particular way figures are computed and arranged are ours.
Paid plans
Nothing is being sold yet. The pricing page describes subscriptions scoped to a team, a conference, a division or the whole site, none of which is open for purchase. Everything here is free to everyone right now. No payment details have been collected and no money has changed hands.
When that changes, the subscription terms — what is billed, how often, how to cancel, and what happens to your data afterwards — will be written here first. Not after.
The legal part
The site is provided “as is” and “as available”, without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement.
To the fullest extent the law allows, we are not liable for indirect, incidental, consequential or punitive damages, or for any loss arising from reliance on a figure published here. Where liability cannot be excluded, it is limited to the greater of the amount you have paid us in the past twelve months or one hundred US dollars.
We may suspend or close an account that is being used to attack or abuse the site. You may stop using it, or ask for your account to be deleted, at any time.
These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Texas, without regard to conflict of law rules. If a provision is unenforceable, the rest stands.
Contact
A wrong number belongs in the feedback form — it captures the page and the figure automatically, which an email never does.
Anything about your account, your data, or these terms: privacy@thirdanddata.com. How your information is handled is set out on the privacy page.
These terms may change. The date at the top changes with them, and a change that affects what you may do will be described rather than quietly substituted.
